Not a lot of time? Have a big crowd to feed? Well this is a MUST to jot down in your recipe book! We had company over this weekend and I didn't want to break the bank for breakfast. This french toast recipe is easy, yet sophisticated. I sliced a loaf of bread, remember even cuts, into about 1 inch slices. In a large bowl I cracked 10 eggs added a tablespoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, meanwhile two tablespoons of butter is melting in a large cast iron pan. I worked in batches soaking each piece of bread individually,

placed them in the cast iron and sprinkled brown sugar on the bread slices while cooking. This helps caramelize and mingle the flavors of the butter and vanilla extract together. I preheated the oven to 170 degrees so when I worked in batches the already cooked slices wouldn't get cold. I only offered syrup and powdered sugar for a topping but you can add ricotta cheese with fresh fruit or even sliced almonds for a crunch!
